Cancellations
Any student wishing to cancel their housing application/contract, must submit a Contract Cancellation Request form to the Office of University Housing, C404, or via email to housing@miyao2009.com. All cancellation requests must be approved by the Executive Director of Residence Life.
Any uncommunicated delays or improper checkouts may result in fines and possible Student Code of Conduct violations.
Any cancellation after June 1st will result in the forfeiture of the housing deposit.
Meal Plans cancelled after the second week of classes will not be refunded.
If you wish to cancel before the second week of classes, you will be charged for what you have used of your meal plan.
Application Fee Refund Policy
When students apply to live in University Housing for the first time, they must submit a $250 housing application fee. This fee becomes your housing deposit.
Any current student who previously applied for housing and paid the $250 application fee does not need to pay the fee again unless at some point they cancelled their housing contract and the fee was previously returned to them or forfeited.
Once a student decides they no longer wish to live in University Housing and does not renew their housing contract for the following academic year, or they cancel their housing contract before or during the contract period they are subject to the following refund policy of their housing deposit and housing fee.

July 1st - July 31st | 100% refund, forfeit $250 housing deposit |
August 1st - August 25th | 100% refund with a $250 cancellation fee and forfeit $250 housing deposit |
August 26th - September 1st | 95% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
September 2nd - September 8th | 90% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
September 9th - September 15th | 80% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
September 16th - September 22nd | 70% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
September 23rd - September 29th | 60% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
September 30th - October 6th | 50 % refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
After October 7th | No refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
Spring 2025
Cancellations before the first day of classes | 100% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
January 13th - January 19th | 95% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
January 20th - January 26th | 90% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
January 27th - February 2nd | 80% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
February 3rd - February 9th | 70% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
February 10th - February 16th | 60% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
February 17th - February 23rd | 50 % refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
After February 24th | No refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
Summer 2024
Cancellations requested before April 30th | 100% refund and $250 housing deposit refunded or held for fall |
May 1st - May 5th | 100% refund, forfeit $250 housing deposit |
May 6th - May 12th | 100% refund with a $250 cancellation fee and forfeit $250 housing deposit |
May 13th - May 19th | 95% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
May 20th - May 26th | 90% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
May 27th - June 2nd | 80% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
June 3rd - June 9th | 70% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |
June 10th - June 16th | 60% refund with a $500 cancellation fee and forfeit deposit |

- Cancellation fees are in addition to forfeiting the housing deposit.
Meal Plan Refund Policy
Meal plans cancelled after the second week of classes will not be refunded.
